MAHESH Khaaleja!!!

I never intended to write a piece on Khaaleja. So let me just start off by telling how I came up with this post... This was supposed to be a comment on Githa 's Khaaleja review.but then i had so much to say that it was turning out to be a mini blog post in itself.so not wanting to hijack someone else's blog with my post..i thought it was only apt that i wrote whatever i have to about Khaaleja in my very own space!!
Again.. this is not a conventional "Movie review" (for story, performances etc etc read Githa 's post) you may just treat this is as an extension to that!!

Lets set the priorities straight-- MAHHHEEESSSSSHHHH!!!!
Thats all i can say for Khaaleja!! I feel they aptly changed the title to Mahesh Khaaleja in the last minute.. cos this movie was all about him and nothing else.Sometimes i also feel that the film was made only to bring Mahesh out of those serious, intense roles and project him in a completely new avatar!! and thats the reason i think this movie would have been a treat if they had made it into an out and out comedy!!
But then again..its the so called "Fans expectations" that drives the telugu industry these days- so after a gap of 3 years mahesh cant do an out and out comedy.he has to come up with something that pleases the mass and class audiences alike. so u have to have approximately 3 to 4 action sequences(one during hero's introduction, then interval bang and then the climax), a villian, exactly 6 songs-nothing more nothing less, possibly a flashback and then a twist- so Trivikram attempts to keep all these along with this "new mahesh" So does he succeed?? well not for me!!

When Mahesh babu says Khaaleja is his best film-I completely agree.no doubts in that- it has to be one of his best performances, he has put in a conscious effort to break the shackles and do this kind of a character and his efforts are showing too.But what if that character is fitted in a wrong storyline, wrong screenplay!! thats exactly how i feel of Khaaleja.

The very first action sequence in Khaaleja was a big let down--it was not necessary in the first place and add to that the reason why he beats up people left right and center is even more foolish--believe it or not-he beats them for drinking water.. and i thought the world is still a reasonably good place to live in and people were not so cruel that they would refuse to provide water if someone just asked for it--I now know i was just ignorant.. huh!!

Another big let down(atleast for me)-Music!! I didnt like the music of Khaaleja-no not even a single song.Period!!They are uninspiring(rather they themselves look inspired from previous mani's songs) and definitely not hum-able!! I strongly feel its time for Mahesh to get different music directors for different films to add that variety to his albums cos Manisharma is becoming way too repetitive!!

So now coming to the very important point-When somebody asks me how is Khaaleja-i am confused.
If i say i liked it-i would be lying cos i thought the storyline was...er..Silly and stupid(sorry if its rude but couldnt find better words to describe it). If i say i didnt like it- then i would be rather unfair on Mahesh (cos he has put his heart and soul into his performance)and trivikram to a certain extent(cos of the dialogs and comedy). So all i can say is-watch it and judge it by yourself!!!

All in all my view on Khaaleja is represented in the title of this post- it has MAHESH more than you would have asked for but certainly lacks Khaaleja!!

P.S: Phew... this is certainly not a mini post as i thought initially!!! thank god i didnt write it as a comment!! otherwise i would made a fool out of myself!!hehe:)
